It is a 50 page informative document, and was designed to help people work through their dog-population management issues and figure out the best ways for their community to address their specific situation.

Since I started Save Rez Dogs, I realized that the majority think removing dogs, or spays and neuters are the answers, but realistically not all Indigenous communities have access to those types of resources, and unfortunately turn to culling. There are more options and more to just spay and neutering the dogs.

“Dog population management does not offer a one-size-fits-all solution. Customizing a plan to the specific needs of each community ensures it will be effective and can be maintained over time.”

I know there are a lot of people out there who want to help rez dogs but don’t know where to start. I felt the same way but I did what the dogs needed the most; someone to show them kindness. Kindness certainly goes a long way, and we also need a long term effective management plan that ensures each dogs safety and health that affects our safety and health.

Present this resource to your Peers, Parents, Teachers, Principals, Chief and Councils, Lands Manager, Health Director, Maintenance man, Aunties, Uncles, Kokums, and Mushums. Helping our rez dogs can bring the community together!

Feel free to contact Tasha Epp if you have any questions regarding the booklet.
